Life story in brief: I was born in Cologne, Germany, and lived in Germany,
England, Mexico, and India before coming to Seattle in the late 1980s. I have always been fascinated by words and languages. I went to school in Cologne and, later, enjoyed Extension courses at the
University of Washington. I live in Seattle's Central District with my wife Evelyn and our cats. We travel whenever we can. Favorite Places include Ravenna, Aix-en-Provence, Tarragona, Valencia,
Santa Barbara, Portland, Vancouver, Walla Walla, and many wilderness hikes in Washington and Oregon.
